Bringing everyone up to date
My husband and I have been married for 14 years and have struggled with infertility the last ten. We decided on adoption in 2003, listing with a local domestic agency. We remained unmatched for 18 months and decided to turn to international adoption. Mind you, Dwayne has never, I mean NEVER been on an airplane. So, conquering the flight plan was as big as the decision to adopt. We decided to list with Children's Hope International Southeast Office and were approved in March of 2006to pursue adopting an infant girl from Vietnam. We completed our homestudy in May of 2006 and recieved our 171-H form in August of 2006 and officially went on the waiting list for referral at that point. Most of you PAPs will know that since then we have just been waiting and updating our information and fingerprints. No real glitches at this point and we are approximately 9 on the waiting list. I am really hoping for a referral by April or May, but only God knows when the appointed time will be. We hope to have our daughter home by early fall. We will see how the rest of the process goes. I will transfer some of my favorite journey to me posts on to this website and look forward to sharing our journey with many of you. I am definitely addicted to blogging, especially in regard to reading Vietnam blogs. I look forward to meeting new friends and being blessed with this awesome opportunity to be called a mommy.

How awesome!! Thanks for the prayers for Marlee! I can't wait until you get your referral. I can't believe you are so close!! It can't be too terribly far away! Girl referrals have been pretty equal with boy referrals since we've been on the list (Sept. 19) and I've been keeping track! Praying for you guys!!
